We are hosting two Coder Dojo events on Sunday 14th October, the first running from 10:30 – 12:30, the second running from 13:30 – 15:30. This is a place for 7 to 17 year old children to learn to code. We will have Raspberry Pi’s available for use, however if you wish to bring your own setup, SD card or laptop then feel free to do so.
Coder Dojo’s are largely self taught sessions with mentors to help, so if you have an idea what what you want to learn or improve then bring along your ideas and let us know. You will not be taught something you don’t want to do. If you are new to coding or Raspberry Pi’s then we will have a selection of resources to get you going.
I there is something particularly you want to learn or investigate, please let us know in advance so we can make sure we have appropriate resources available.
At previous sessions we have had activities such as those listed below taking place:
- Making traffic lights with LED’s and Python code
- Crating games in Scratch
- Creating adventure games in Python
- Using Python to create automated Minecraft features
